CMS 20/21 Season Update

We hope this finds everyone healthy and well.

At this point in past years, CMS would have already hosted an early season Rail Jam and we would be looking forward to our athletes gearing up for the rest of our events.

Obviously, this is not a “normal” season. But we want you to know that CMS has been working with our resort partners, as well as local health officials, and are hoping to hold events in February and March. These events will be run under the USASA Return to Play Plan which can be found here. While they may be a bit different than “normal”, we are looking forward to giving our athletes the opportunity to compete this season.

We would love to be able to tell you when the schedule will be finalized, however we are giving the resorts the time to get through the start of the season and the holiday week while figuring out the “new” way of doing business.

In the meantime, since we all miss seeing you guys, send us a picture of you in your CMS Nationals sweatshirt or your gear from this year and let us know what you did to keep busy during “stay at home.” We’ll share your pic and story on social media to keep us all connected. Or post it on your Instagram story and tag @catskillmountainseries.

We will keep you updated and cannot wait to see our CMS families again soon!

USASA Return to Play Plan

USASA is committed to gathering the most up to date best practices to create a plan for success as we look towards the 2020-2021 season. In an ever-changing landscape we will rely on the best practices and guidelines that have been compiled from resources and guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization(WHO), The Aspen Institute, among others.

Athlete, parent, and organizer safety are of the utmost importance and we look forward to creating a healthy athletic environment for the 2020-2021 season. We will update these resource guidelines every month until September 1st, and then every two weeks as we approach the first events on snow.

USASA has also produced a Return to Play Policy during COVID-19. Thank you for your patience while we put forth the best plan with you and your athlete's safety in mind.

USASA Annual Fund

Help push USASA over the top!

This season we have faced an unprecedented budget challenge with the cancelation of our National Championships due to Covid-19. The community has risen to the challenge and we have raised over $79,000 of our $85,000 goal. We are just $5,400 away with just three days left to get there. Can you help us reach this important milestone?

Your thoughtful donation helps the USASA provide:

  • Funding for individual series equipment costs associated with producing events
  • Education and training for coaches, judges and officials
  • A safer environment for athletes by providing background checks, SafeSport training, and new this season: avalanche training

USASA HOSTS #USASAShowcase2020 VIDEO CONTEST

2020 USASA National Championships was canceled but that doesn't mean we can't keep the spirit and fun of Nationals going while we're all social distancing. Which is why we're hosting the USASA 2020 Showcase -- a video contest that will be held during the two-week window we were all planning on throwing down at National Championships.

USASA 2020 National Championships- Relief Auction

The USASA National Championships serves as one of the key support structures for USASA. With the loss of this year's event due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the longevity of the USASA is in potential jeopardy so we have put together a Relief Auction to provide opportunities to contribute and help secure the future of the USASA during this difficult time.

We have athlete sourvenir gift packs, snowboard and ski gear, vacations, experiences, outerwear, Olympic gear and more!

The proceeds of this auction will help save the USASA amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
