The Empire State Winter Games are now open to all CMS members, as well as any USASA members in the Adirondack and Western New York regions. Those athletes that competed in last year’s Winter Games can register until December 31st and then registration will be open to all others until the quotas are filled.
If you are interested in participating in the Empire State Winter Games, please read the info below and register with Mike Kirchner as soon as possible to assure your spot.
Qualifying Criteria
All participants must be current members of one of the United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) regions within New York State (Catskills, Western New York, or Adirondack). New York State residency is no longer required.
General Info
The Boardercross/Skiercross and Slopestyle events will take place at Whiteface Mountain and will be conducted by the New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) in accordance with USASA rules.
Registration
- Athletes who took part in the 2011 Games will be eligible to register on or before December 31, 2011 in either or both disciplines.
- Open registration for all others will take place from January 1, 2012 through midnight EST on January 18, 2012 or until quotas are filled.
Age Groups
There will be three age/competition groups per discipline and gender broken
down into the following:
16 male & 8 female in each group
- Ages 13-15
- Ages 16-18
- Open
Fees
General Registration: $10
Event & Event-Day Lift Ticket: $56
Training Day Lift Ticket: $40
*Training passes are required for all competitors and may be purchased at the
NYSEF Uihlein Training Center upon onsite check-in.

Saturday Feb 4th: Cross Time Trials and Finals

Sunday Feb 5th: Slopestyle Finals
*Cross time trials will consist of one timed run to seed for finals. All heats will consist of a maximum of four athletes on course, single elimination. Semi-Final winners advance to Finals, losers to Consolation Final.
* Slopestyle format will be best of two runs.
