Check out the Catskill Mountain Series final Halfpipe competition of the 2009/2010 season. We saw excellent runs all across the age categories and the Hunter Mountain park staff provided us with a pipe that was in great shape and fun to ride. There were a few battles to be fought to determine first place qualifiers and we saw some great amplitude as well as rotation skills. This event completes the CMS freestyle events and we wish our National qualifiers good luck at Copper Mountain in early April.
Yet another cold couple of days on the hill with a fun and busy BX/SX at Windham Mountain and a windy next day at Catamount for a Giant Slalom and a Halfpipe competition. Nevertheless, CMS made the best of it and Catamount did a great job improving their pipe for us despite the warm spell a couple of weeks ago.
Last weekend's events went smooth once again , despite the sub zero temperatures and it already being our CMS Slopestyle finals. We had a busy day at Belleayre Mountain on Saturday with a Slalom race in the morning and a Slopestyle competition in the afternoon. And on Sunday at Catamount some competitors really had to step it up if they wanted to end up as the first place qualifiers for Nationals in the Slopestyle division. All in all, we had a great time and are looking forward to the first BoarderX/SkierX this coming Saturday at Windham Mountain. See you there!
We had another great CMS weekend with an even larger number of competitiors than the week before and with the strongest showing of skiers yet. The first day at Windham Mountain brought blue skies and sunshine but also a very long day on the hill due to the first Giant Slalom competition of the season and a very popular Slopestyle contest. On Sunday at Catamount we were lucky not to get rained out and were able to host two alpine races and the second Halfpipe of the season.
